What is the CLOE?
The CLOE (Oral and Written Language Skills) is a language test designed to assess comprehension and expression skills. The test focuses on grammar, the use of common and professional vocabulary and the ability to interact clearly and fluently.
The test is recognized nationally, and its validity is unlimited in time. The CLOE is also eligible for the CPF, allowing candidates to finance their certification through their training account.
It is structured in a way to comprehensively assess the language skills of candidates. It consists of the following sections:
Written skills: for 40 to 50 minutes online on a computer. This is a standardized, but adaptive test. The CERCL results will be established for each of the competencies. This skill is assessed by 10 questions on vocabulary, grammar, knowledge of expression, text and oral comprehension.
Oral skills: for 15 to 20 minutes, online with an examiner via CLOE Connect. The following will be assessed:
- Understand a statement, instructions or questions from an interlocutor and use everyday or work-related vocabulary appropriate to the communication situation
- Mastery of the main grammatical structures necessary to construct coherent sentences of varying complexity
- Communicate naturally orally
- Make yourself understood with clear pronunciation
- Develop interaction and dialogue
